Description
Silicare Border is an absorbent, self-adhering dressing designed to create and maintain an optimal moist wound environment. Its protective water-repellent backing acts as a barrier against external contaminants such as dirt and bacteria.
At the core, the dressing features the innovative Silitec wound contact layer, a specialized adhesive technology that ensures secure placement while minimising patient discomfort and reducing the risk of trauma to both the wound bed and surrounding skin during removal.
Intended Purpose / Use
For Moderate to Heavy Exuding Wounds:
- Pressure injuries.
- Diabetic foot ulcers.
- Venous and arterial leg or foot ulcers.
- Skin tears and surgical wounds, including donor sites.
- First and second-degree burns.
- Can also be used on dry or necrotic wounds in combination with wound gels.
Pressure Injury Protection:
- Helps prevent skin damage, such as pressure injuries.
- Supports the prevention of postoperative blistering.

Instructions For Use
Select the dressing
- Choose the appropriate size and shape.
- For wounds: ensure the pad overlaps the dry surrounding skin by at least 1–2 cm.
- For prevention: ensure the pad fully covers the area at risk of pressure injury or tissue damage.
Prepare the wound/skin
- For wounds: cleanse according to clinical practice and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
Apply the dressing
- Remove the central liner(for sizes more than 12.5X12.5) and gently place the adherent side onto the wound or targeted skin area.
Secure the border
- Remove the remaining release liners.
- Smooth down the border onto the skin without stretching.
- In sizes below 12.5X12.5 (two liners only are provided).
